Mr. Dennis Keith Wilcox: Obituary

Mr. Dennis Keith Wilcox, better known as “Denn”, age 57, of Turtletown, TN, passed away on June 21, 2015. He was born in Polk County, TN on May 20, 1958. Dennis was an active member of the Turtletown Missionary Baptist Church serving as Choir Director, Sunday School Teacher and with Vacation Bible School. He had received his Welding Certificate from Tri-County College and was also a Licensed Cosmetologist. He owned and operated Wilcox Cut and Style from 1978 until 2014. Most recently, Dennis had worked for 8 years with the Polk County School System in Maintenance. His father, Guinn Calvin Wilcox precedes in him death.

Survivors include his loving mother, Corena Murphy Wilcox; sister, Janice Reida; brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Pam Wilcox, all of Turtletown, TN; nephews, Rick and Mark Reid, Justin, Jarod and Tanner Wilcox; great nephews, Zackery, Trevor and Colton Reid, Tyler Duggan, Drew Payne, Dakota Crowe and Brendan Allen; great nieces, Lindsay Payne, Mallory Sisson and Shanda Crowe; great great nieces and nephews, Hayden Reid, Kason Reid, Elsa Payne and Carter Johnson; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mitch Isbill, Rev. Mark Reid and Rev. Calvin Murphy officiating. Music will be provided by Janice Reid and Drew Payne. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Kevin Smith, Ronnie Hensley, Cole Barker, David Goode, Rick Reid, Mark Reid, Tanner Wilcox and Zackery Reid. The following gentlemen will serve as honorary pallbearers: Owen Hensley, L.W. Smith, Mark Raper, Jeff Barker, Eric Smith, Lynn Cheek, Ray Harper, Kenneth Allen and Renny Whittenbarger. Interment will follow in the Turtletown Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Renny Whittenbarger officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5-8 p.m. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Turtletown Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery Fund at P.O.
