Psalm 77: 2, 3 “ …my soul refused to be comforted. I remembered God and was troubled: I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed.”O you who rule the wind and water, there are times when our souls refuse to be comforted. It seems that we cannot quieten ourselves before you or receive help from any of our loved ones. Our spirits are locked up in their rage. Complaints of any and everything proceed from our lips. Life is out – of – whack.
O God, protect us from ourselves when we fall into such turmoil. Help us to weather the storm and to hold firm without being impulsive. Remove the poison of rebellion from us and cause us to be submissive to Thy overruling power.
Help this person who pauses in meditation just now to be calm and live today in the place of quiet rest – near to the heart of God.
Amen.
