Daily Prayer: February 8, 2015

Matthew 26:39 “O my father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless not as I will, but as Thou wilt.”O Divine Father, Your will is always best for us. There are times when all is dark and it seems that no good can prevail. Teach us that You do sometimes wound that You may heal, cause unrest that You might give rest, and cause us to be anxious that Thou might help us find true joy. Spare us not those things that will refine and purify our devotion to You even though they may be hard and unbearable.

Into Your hands we place our live anew this day. Where there is danger, grant us protection. Where there is temptation, help us to be strong. Where there are afflictions, comfort us by the presence of Your peace. Have Your own way in our lives and may we be submissive to You knowing that You do love us through Christ much more than we can ever love Thee.

Amen.
