Ramona June Wehunt, age 85 of Epworth, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga.June was born November 29, 1929 in Epworth, GA to the late William Nichols and the late Amanda Turner Nichols. A member of the Tabernacle Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husband, Oliver Kenneth Wehunt, also brothers and sisters, Jean Espisito, Callie McDaniel, Audrey Holden, Paul Nichols, Harold Nichols and Beulah Dockery. June enjoyed bowling in her spare time. She also sang and played piano at church. She was a very devoted Christian.
Survivors include son, Larry Wehunt with partner Jan, sister, Marie Ruth Nichols, brother-in-law, Johnny Holden, two grandchildren, Erin Marie Wehunt and Ryan Matthew Wehunt, three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Scott Baugh officiating. Interment will follow in the Liberty Hill Church Cemetery. Pallbearers include Jeff Wehunt, Carl Dockery, Kevin Dockery, Chris Holden. Honorary pallbearers are Johnny Holden, Kenny Queen, Charlie Thomas, Eddie McDaniel, Jeff McDaniel, and Bill Smith.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6-9 pm.
