Mr. Lonis Dillard: Obituary

Mr. Lonis Dillard, age 79 of Blue Ridge, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at his home. He was born April 23, 1935 in Blue Ridge, GA to the late Verlin Dillard and the late Sarah Patterson Dillard. He was preceded in death by sister, Cledis Porter. Lonis was a very hard working and honest man, he had been building for over 50 years and his work was immaculate.

Survivors include: wife, Shirley Neal Dillard, daughter, Yohna (Gerald) Teasley, son, Steve (Tracy) Dillard, daughter, Melissa Dillard, step children, Danny (Sherry) Pierce and Dale Pierce, sisters, Marie (Gene) Earley, Jo Ann (Joe) Sisson, nine grandchildren, three step grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, one special great grandchild, Braxtyn Green.

Funeral services: Friday, January 30, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dennie Hawkins and Chaplin John Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Chastain Memorial Park. Pallbearers: Justin Sisson, Brian Earley, Mark Earley, Doyle Carder, Joe Porter and Dennis Neal. Honorary pallbearers: Dr. Jack Roof, Bill Prather, Tim Mercier, Jerry Tammen, J. C. Wood, Jim Sisson, Joe Ballew, Jeff Harkins, Larry Kincaid, Junior Mason and Johnny Montgomery.

The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, Thursday, January 29, 2015, 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
