The Fannin County Chamber hosted the 31st Annual Banquet Saturday night at the beautiful Brasstown Valley Resort & Spa. The banquet was held in a beautiful setting and enjoyed a larger attendance this year, extended from 26 tables to 28 and music provided by Maxwell Taylor. Georgia State Speaker of the House David Ralston and Congressman Doug Collins addressed the crowd. Senator Steve Gooch, Commission Chair Bill Simonds, Post Commissioners Earl Johnson and Larry Joe Sosebee and Mayor Donna Whitener were also in attendance.
The banquet is a special time of saying farewell to the past and welcoming the new with part of the program recognizing outgoing and incoming board members. Retiring from the Fannin Chamber Board this year are: Gina Golden, David Sanders, Jackie Seabolt and Rhonda Taylor – 2014 Past Chair Kevin Panter. Incoming Fannin Chamber Board for 2015: Chair Lisa Hood, Vice Chair and Chair Elect Cynthia Panter, Secretary Manda Gwatney and Treasurer Rene Bidez.
Special Awards recognizing members were as follows: Chamber Member of the Year- Paul Gribble, Chamber Business of the Year – Blue Ridge Community Theatre – accepted by Pat & Joe Webb, Honorary Lifetime Member – Dale Dyer, Ambassador of the Year – Brenda Morgan. So thank you to all who work so hard for our community. A special thanks to Jan Hackett, President Fannin County Chamber, who never ceases to work to ensure the Fannin County Chamber Membership is the best investment you will ever make. 2015 will be an exciting year!
