Citizens Show an Outpouring of Support for Hodskins

BLUE RIDGE, Ga – The first Fannin County Board of Commissioners meeting of 2015 was full of fire, passion, and support for Recreation Department Director Bernie Hodskins. In the past several weeks a story has been unfolding concerning the accountability, or what some would see as the lack there of, of the handling of money and county asset’s by Hodskins.

While there have been no accusations made about Bernie by the commission board there have been certain things come up that has the board looking in to the matter.

“We haven’t got all the facts yet, but when we do we will let you all know what we find,” said commission chair Bill Simonds.

Post 2 commissioner Larry Joe Sosebee chimed in to say, “I can assure you all we will be fair and balanced when considering the situation.”

Post 1 commissiner Earl Johnson added that while the situation isn’t ideal that it may help things move forward.

“By no means do I believe our recreation department will benefit from things like this coming out, but sometimes things like this coming out can help us move forward,” said Johnson.

However, with all the negativity surrounding the matter over the past couple of weeks, the meeting was packed with standing room only with citizens who were in support of Hodskins.

Keep checking back for more information as the story develops in the coming weeks.

You can watch the full meeting below or fast forward to the 13:00 minute mark to listen to what all 24 citizens who spoke had to say:
