Mrs. Mollie Jane Gibbs, age 94, of Mineral Bluff, GA, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Life Care Center of Copper Basin.Mrs. Gibbs was born on August 3, 1920 in Fannin County, GA to the late Charlie King and Mary Brown King. She served her life as a homemaker and was a member of Van Hook Baptist Church. Mrs. Gibbs was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, William “Bill” Gibbs.
She is survived by her sons, Ernest (Betty) Gibbs of Mineral Bluff, GA and Homer (Shirley) Gibbs of Morganton, GA, daughter; Mary Ann Patterson of Dalton, GA, 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday, January 11, 2015 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Akins Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Kaylor officiating. Music will be by the A.C. Caylor Family. Interment will follow in Van Hook Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Michael Gibbs, Steve Gibbs, Ricky Payne, Bobby Payne, Bret Payne, Tommy Cornette, Tony Cornette, and John Watkins. Friends may visit the family the evening of Saturday, January 10, 2015 from 5-9:00 PM. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
