Stephanie Dawn Carter Dempsey: Obituary

Cochran Funeral Home and Crematory of Blairsville announces the death of Stephanie Dawn Carter Dempsey, age 44, of Blairsville, who passed away Monday, December 15, 2014, at her home.Stephanie was born in Huntington, West Virginia, on March 7, 1970, a daughter of David Lyle Carter and Nancy May Murrell Carter. Stephanie had lived in Blairsville for the past two years, moving from Hampton, South Carolina. In Hampton, she was a member of Sandhill Baptist Church. Stephanie was a paralegal, and worked very closely with the American Heart Association, and she testified before a congressional sub-committee on their behalf. Preceding Stephanie in death was a sister, Melanie Carter Bunn, and a niece, Megan Elizabeth Bunn.

Stephanie was dearly loved and will be missed so much, especially by her family members: parents, David and Nancy Carter of Blairsville; son, Jacob Randall Dempsey, of Hampton, South Carolina; brother and sister-in-law, David Michael Carter and Ginny, of St. Johns, Florida; two nieces, Madeline Carter and Abigail Carter; and three nephews, Austin, Cain, and Gage Dempsey.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Friday, Dec. 19th at 11:00 a.m. at the Rock Chapel of Blairsville First Baptist Church with Dr. Fred Lodge and Rev. Bob Crowe officiating. The family will receive friends at the Rock Chapel for one hour prior to the Funeral. Music will be provided by Mr. Dan Lackmiller.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Cochran Funeral Home and Crematory of Blairsville.
