Michael L. “Mike” Walden, 56, of Dawsonville passed away Monday October 27, 2014.A native of McCaysville, GA, he had been living in Dawson County for the past 30 years having moved from Atlanta. Mike was a supervisor for Georgia Power Co. and had been employed for 37 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, France “Dock” and Colleen Walden.
Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Joan Walden, Dawsonville; son, Michael Walden, Dawsonville; granddaughter, Gracie Walden, Dawsonville; sister and brother in law, Mary and Larry Stover, Ellijay; sister in law and brother in law, Linda and Tony Lyons, Toledo, OH; brothers in law and sisters in law, Gerald and Mary Ann Conner, Blue Ridge, Roy and Gail Conner, Blue Ridge, Jimmy and Sunshine Conner, Texas; special friend and neighbor, Hal “Bones” Perry, Dawsonville; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Memorial services will be held Friday October 31, 2014 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Larry Stover will officiate. The family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. Friday. The family request to please omit flowers and donations may be made to the Dawson County Senior Citizens Center, 201 Recreation Road, Dawsonville, GA 30534.
