Mrs. Joyce Cecilia McDaniel, age 70 of Murphy, passed away September 24, 2014 at the Valley View Care Center in Andrews, NC.Joyce was born December 9, 1943 in Dunoon, Scotland, to the late Edward Conner and the late Betty Hodge Conner. A member of the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Hayesville, she was preceded in death by son, Paul McDaniel, and two sisters, Betty Lee and Barbara Conner. Joyce enjoyed knitting and gardening in her spare time. She was an avid volunteer and she sang in the church choir. She had a deep love for nature and animals.
Survivors include loving husband of 48 years, Howard McDaniel, one daughter, Lisa (Mark) Perry, two grandchildren, Georgia Besse Perry and Jackson Paul Perry, one brother, Edward (Yvonne) Conner of Bridgnorth, England and numerous nieces and nephews that reside in England.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church with the Father William Breedlove officiating. Interment will follow in the Good Shepherd Memorial Garden.
