Mrs. Audry Lou Helen Norton Ritchie: Obituary

Mrs. Audry Lou Helen Norton Ritchie, age 76 of Blue Ridge, passed away on Friday, September 26, 2014 at Fannin Regional Hospital.She was born on Monday, April 25, 1938 to the late Thomas McKinley and Rachel Sally Patterson Norton. Mrs. Ritchie had worked at Cohutta Lodge in housekeeping. She was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church. Mrs. Ritchie loved spending time with her family and family reunions. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Adel Burk, Tomma Sue Sanford and A.J. Norton.

Survivors are children, Thomas Harvey Norton of McCaysville, GA and William “Bill” Howard Ritchie (Nancy) of Blue Ridge, GA and Tammy Wanette Ritchie Brooks (Sam) of Blue Ridge, GA; sister, Ann L. Higdon of Kennesaw, GA; five grandchildren, Jennifer Ann Norton Martin, William “Billy” Brooks, Megan Danielle Ritchie, Hannah Elizabeth Ritchie and Rachel Marie Brooks; three great-grandchildren, Katie Wright, Jonah Wright and Brittany Kiare Norton; sister-in-law, Helen Norton of Morganton, GA and brother-in-law, Johnny Burk of Blue Ridge, GA also survive.

Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, September 28, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with the Rev. David McLendon, Rev. Jeff Fair and Rev. Claude Mathis officiating. Eulogy was by Tracy Sanford. Music was by Tim Gray. Interment followed in Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Billy Brooks, Jason Norton, Drannon Higdon, John Acuff, Roger Ritchie and Joe Mathis. Honorary Pallbearers were Mike Barnes, James Aaron, Johnny Ritchie, Bobby Martin, Austin Norton and Camryn Higdon.

Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge was in charge of the arrangements.
