Mrs. Joan Bruce: Obituary

Mrs. Joan Bruce, age 81 of Hayesville, passed away Monday, September 22, 2014 at her home.Mrs. Bruce was born March 25, 1933 in Lebanon, VA to the late John and Mary Lee Davenport Easterly. She was a member of McConnell Memorial Baptist Church where she has previously been very active, especially with the Deciplers Sunday School Class. Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Randolph Bruce and son, Tim Bruce.

Survivors include: daughters, Teresa Weavil of King, NC and Lisa B. (Greg) Wilson of Liberty, SC, sister, Sue Heinisch of Young Harris, Brother, Don Easterly of Pharr, TX, sister, Judy Marcum of New Port Richey, FL, grandchildren: Heather Weavil of Asheville, NC, Lindsay Wilson-Pilon of Denver, CO, Jessica Wilson-Thille of Greenville, SC, and Hannah Wilson of Charleston, SC; and by great grandchildren: Sierra Weavil, Hazel Wilson-Pilon, and Zoe Wilson-Thille.

Memorial services are scheduled for Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 3:00 pm at the Chapel of the Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee with the Rev. Steven Taylor officiating. Music will be provided by Rev. Wayne Hadley.

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, Saturday, September 27, 2014, from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations in memory of Joan be made to the McConnell Memorial Baptist Building Fund, P.O. Box 235, Hiawassee, GA 30546.

Arrangements entrusted to the Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee, GA.
