Daily Prayer: 09/24/2014

“Do not speak evil against one another, brothers. The one who speaks against a brother or judges his brother, speaks evil against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. There is only one lawgiver and judge, he who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbor?” James 4:11-12.Dear Lord of Peace, we sometimes are around people who delight in defaming others. Help us to be aware of the power of careless, critical, and slanderous accusations against a fellow believer. You have already judged and dealt with this person and likely they have dealt with themselves. You then do not allow us to be judges over them for this is forbidden in the divine law.

We want to be doers of the law of all that is right in human relationships for we do not want to be judged with the same harshness that we are capable of giving. May we live this day in the Spirit of Christ.

Amen.
