II Corinthians 9:6 “He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.”O God of Grace, we have learned that you do not do everything for us. Forgive us for expecting you to do the things for us which we should do for ourselves. Our sparse sowing has caused us much heartache and we have blamed other factors rather than facing up to the fact that we have not sowed enough to reap the harvest of joy and peace based on your purpose for us.
Help us to sow bountifully by placing the total of life into your hands; by being a friend to those in need; by realizing the true value of life and by pursuing the things that count the most.
With your help we will conquer selfishness and pride; we will overcome jealousy and envy; we will stop living on a low level and will rise above our circumstances.
Take our failures and turn them into accomplishments. Take our talents and use them to the fullest for the sake of Christ.
Amen.
