The Fannin County High School Lady Rebels softball team has hit a snag recently, losing three straight games to fall to 5-10 on the season. After a close two run (8-6) win over Franklin County and a blow-out win over West Hall (12-0), the Lady Rebels lost to Lumpkin (7-2), Westminster (4-0), and Pickens (5-0).
Versus Lumpkin the Fannin fell behind early as the Lady Indians jumped out to a 4-0 lead before Fannin found a run in the fourth inning. Fannin managed one more run in the bottom of the seventh but could not overcome the early lead combined with the three runs scored by Lumpkin in the top of the seventh.
The Lady Rebels could not score against Westminster and Pickens and combined to be shut out 9-0 in those last two losses.
Fannin next hosts East Hall Thursday September 11th. The game will also double as the annual “Pink Out” cancer awareness game.
