Construction of Traffic Light Requires Temporary Closure of Highway 76 Adjacent Fannin Middle School

A portion of Highway 76 (just in front of the Fannin Middle School) will be closed until early next week in order to install a traffic light.

The new light is celebrated by parents and bus drivers given that this intersection has been both dangerous and time consuming for drivers.
Historically, the intersection’s location required an officer to direct traffic before and after school during the school year.Tuesday afternoon, FYN visited the site and approximates that one car per minute turned around at the intersection of Orvin Lance Connector (where the U.S. Post office and CVS pharmacy is located) and Highway 76.
