Sylvia Ann Wilson Davenport, age 65, of Blairsville, passed away Friday, April 11, 2014 at Union General Hospital.Mrs. Davenport was born March 18, 1949 in Cartersville, GA to the late Granville Wesley Wilson and the late Thelma Bunie Chastain Wilson. Mrs. Davenport had lived in Blairsville since 1977 and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Kenneth Davenport and son-in-law, Jared Jackson.
Sylvia leaves behind her loving family members, which include: daughters, Enid Jackson and Erica Davenport, both of Blairsville, adopted son, Chris (Rhonda) Cole, of Blairsville adopted daughter, Melinda Burbage of Cleveland, GA, adopted daughter, Julie Mathis of Hiawassee, step-son, Doug (Karen) Davenport of Kennesaw, GA, step-son, Kenny (Rebecca) Lambert of Tate, GA, Brother, Wesley (Jan) Wilson, sister, Janie (Joe) Wheeler, Brother, Timmy (Lynn) Wilson, sister, Linda (Mitchell) Pasley, all of Calhoun, GA; granddaughters, Jessica Mollere, Kimberly Davenport, Kendra Davenport, Heidi Davenport and Alyssa Adams; grandsons, Warren Cole, Justin Jackson, and Jacob Lambert; Many more adopted children and grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Sylvia are scheduled for Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at 2:00 p.m., at Mt. Zion Baptist Church where the body will lie instate from 1 until 2 p.m. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers: Chris Cole, Warren Cole, Justin Jackson, John McCollum, Travis Henry and Rickey Davenport. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Danny Jones and Alex Davenport.
