Betty Collins Daves : Obituary

Mrs. Betty Collins Daves, age 82 of Morganton, passed away March 2, 2014 at the Union General Hospital.Mrs. Daves was born July 14, 1931 in Morganton, GA to the late George Nelson and Laura Collins. A member of the Concord Baptist Church, she was preceded in death by brothers, Wayne, Clyde and Ben Collins, and sisters, Virgie Galloway and Arlene Harper. When she was able, Betty enjoyed working in the garden. She also enjoyed sewing and quilting.

Survivors include husband, Wilson Daves, son and daughter-in-law, James Ricky and Sonya Daves, son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Sharon Daves, three brothers, Eston, Winston and Randy Collins, five grandchildren, Weston Collins, Chase Daves, Candace Daves, Logan Daves and Luke Daves, four great-grandchildren, Presley Daves, Copen Daves, Andrea Reeves, and Everett Daves.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Wilscott Baptist Church with the Rev. Eric Davenport officiating. Music provided by Debbie Cochran. Interment will follow in Wilscott Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers include Tim Garrison, David Stanley, Logan Daves, Weston Daves, Carlos Wilson and Chase Daves.

The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6-9 pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, at stjude.org or 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
