Joann Bennie, age 75, of the Lifecare Center of Copper Basin passed away Saturday, February 8, 2014, Joann was a native of the Frytown area of McCaysville, GA and was a daughter of the late Virgil and Ethel Collins Goss. She was a homemaker and attended Riverside Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hoyt Bennie and daughter, Connie Christine Bennie.
She is survived by grandson, Hoyt Self of the home. Many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, February 9th at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Gary Queen officiating. Music will be by Chris Wade and Michael Pirkle. Pallbearers include Thomas Bennin, Matthew Bennie, Jerry Bennie, Don Bennie, Robbie Morris, Donnie Morris and Nevada Mitchell. Interment will follow in the Fairview Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 12:00 p.m. until the funeral hour of 2:00 p.m..
