Robert Anthony Martin, age 80, loving husband, father, brother, and #1 University of Miami fan, passed away Monday, October 28, 2013 in the Fannin Regional Hospital in Blue Ridge, GA.Mr. Martin was born in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania on July 14, 1933 to the lat Francis Anderson Martin and Julia Agnes Bretti Martin. He worked as Chief Enforcement Officer in Building and Zoning for Miami/Dade County.
He was of the Catholic faith and was preceded in death by a son, Frank A. Martin and a brother Mark Martin.
He is survived by his wife, Maryann Martin of Blue Ridge; children and their spouses, Debbie and Mac MacKenzie of Colfax, NC, Tracy and Glenn Russell of Olive Branch, Mississippi, Holly Wiggins of Norfolk, VA, Christopher M. Martin of Blue Ridge and Allison M. Martin of Blue Ridge; brother, Jim Martin of Catawba, VA; sisters and spouses, Mary Frances and William Galivan of Princeton, FL, Constance B. and Pete Mastellone of Vera Beach, FL, and Ann and Roger Holbrook of Blue Ridge, GA; six grandchildren, Michael, Melissa, Julie Ann, Christina, Laura, and Brian; four great grandchildren, Lydia, Hayden, Eli, and Luke; and many, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and friends also survive.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. from the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with Father John Conway officiating.
