Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces memorial services for Mrs. Mavis Knowles, age 75, of Blairsville, who passed away Friday evening, October 4, 2013, at her home.
Mrs. Knowles was a native of Leicester, England, and was born on April 27, 1938, a daughter of the late Francis Edward Saunders and the late Florence Mae Turner Saunders. She moved to Blairsville from Valrico, Florida in 1998. Mrs. Knowles was a member of Choestoe Baptist Church.
Mrs. Knowles was dearly loved and will be missed so much – especially by her surviving family members: husband of 57 years, Samuel Louis Knowles, of Blairsville; children and their spouses, Rose Georgina and Michael Turner; Douglas C. and Patricia Knowles; and Elizabeth L. and Wayne Fann; brothers and sisters: Doris Clay, Edina Jordan, Colin Saunders, and John Saunders, all of England; six grandchildren, and three great grandchildren also survive.
Memorial services are scheduled for Saturday, October 12, 2013, at 11:00 a.m., in the Old Sanctuary of Choestoe Baptist Church. The family will meet with friends on Saturday, the same day of the service starting at 10:00 a.m.
Flowers are being accepted; however, if you wish, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
