The students and staff assembled in the gym at Blue Ridge Elementary while a correspondent from Great American Opportunities spoke to them about their upcoming chocolate fundraiser. The students were already excited to be out of class but when they approached the gym and could hear the freshest beats thumping from inside, they were pumped up to begin selling the candy they would sell to raise funds for the next couple of weeks.
Momma always said life was like a box of chocolates but she never said anything about monkeys to go along with it but the students at Blue Ridge have the benefit of both! For each box of chocolate they sell, they receive a lucky monkey to hang on their lanyard. This was to display to their classmates how successful their candy sells have been. With many receiving a monkey almost immediately, they also were eligible to receive other prizes, including a trip to the money machine if they sold six boxes of candy.
By the end of the assembly, students were ready to get their candy and go home to begin selling it. The success of the fundraiser will be told in an upcoming assembly for prizes to be given and for the money machine. FYN will be there to keep you up to date on the chocolate and monkeys at Blue Ridge Elementary.
