Michael Eaton would like to announce that he is seeking the office of Mayor of Blue Ridge, in the November 5th election. He has been a lifelong native of Blue Ridge and if elected, will follow his grandfather, who served twice as mayor during the early 1950’s and 1960’s. He and his family have always been active members in the community and have played vital roles in helping to build the Blue Ridge that we see today. Michael has served, for almost the past 5 years, as City Councilman, City Parks Commissioner, and has also served as a member of the Fannin County Library Board of Trustees.
He is a graduate of Kennesaw State University, where he received his bachelors in Business Administration. He has held a real estate license for 16 years, received his Series 7 Securities license, and is currently employed by the accounting firm R.L. Jennings where he works primarily with audits of other cities and counties, while at the same time finishing a second accounting degree at the University of North Georgia (Previously known as North Georgia College). Michael plans to bring honesty, integrity, and an ethical base to the mayor’s office, all of which, he believes to be totally lacking at this point.
