Donald Ray Ledford : Obituary

Mr. Donald Ray Ledford, age 54 of Murphy, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2013 at the Copper Basin Medical Center. Mr. Ledford was born November 16, 1958 in Copperhill, TN to Gerald Ledford and Corrine Parris Ledford. A member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, he enjoyed bluegrass Christian music and sitting on his porch swing. He liked to fish and camp and he played softball before his health declined.

Survivors include: wife, Catherine “Cat” Ledford, father, Gerald Ledford, mother, Corrine Parris Ledford, step-son, Corey Smith, step-son, Brett Marsh, brother, Rick Ledford, brother, Randy Ledford, brother, Ronnie Ledford, brother, Gary Ledford, sister, Kelly Kimsey, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 18, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Calvin Murphy officiating. Interment will follow in the Temple Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers include Todd Dilbeck, Mark Burger, Tim Towe, Gene Stevens, Logan Ledford, Chris Ledford, Daniel Ledford, Ben Ledford, Caleb Ledford, and Bryson Kimsey. Honorary pallbearer is Connor Kimsey.

The family will receive friends at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home of McCaysville, Wednesday, July 17, 2013 from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, you may make donations to the family to help with medical expenses.
