Mrs. Ruth Lee Harper, age 89, of Mineral Bluff, GA passed away Sunday, June 30, 2013 in the Fannin Regional Hospital in Blue Ridge, GA.Mrs. Harper was born in Etowah, TN on January 16, 1924 to the late James Bailey and Bertha Mull Bailey. She worked as a teacher’s aid at Blue Ridge Elementary. She was a member of Union Baptist Church in Mineral Bluff, GA and was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Harper; and a brother Charles Gilbert Bailey.
She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Rhonda Harper of East Ellijay and Donna Sue Rice and Michael Rice of Athens, TN; brothers and sisters-in-law, Edward and Helen Bailey of Blue Ridge, and George and Lillian Bailey of Mineral Bluff; sister, Barbara Jean Henson of Covington, GA; grandchildren, Cortney Ralston, Faith Ralston, Joseph Roy Ralston, and Hannah Rice.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Bill Johnson and Rev. Gary Parris officiating. Music will be by the A.C. Caylor Family and Deborah Mull. Pallbearers will be Jospeh Roy Ralston, Cody Kephart, James Bailey, Jerry Bailey, Donald Bailey, and Larry Joe Mull. Interment will follow in Union Church Cemetery.
