Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces graveside services for Mr. Donald L. MacLane, age 87, of Blairsville, who passed away on Thursday evening, May 9, 2013 in Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Georgia.
Don was born in Brooklyn, New York, on February 7, 1926, a son of the late Clarence MacLane and the late Mae Butler MacLane. He graduated from Brooklyn High School in Brooklyn. Don proudly served his country during World War II, in the U.S. Navy, aboard the USS Bennington, operating in the Pacific Theatre. He and his wife, Florence, were business owners. They owned and operated the Lighting and Decorating Center in Blairsville, for many years. Don was of the Seventh Day Adventist faith. His daughter, Cheryl Lynn MacLane, and a brother-in-law, Morris Northup, preceded Don in death.
Don will be missed so much by his loving wife, Florence; and many other relatives and friends.
Graveside services have been scheduled for Sunday, May 12, 2013, at 2:00 p.m., in Union Memory Gardens Cemetery in Blairsville, with Pastor Valentin Rusu and Elder Ron Westfall officiating.
