Eraser Marks Raise Concern for East Fannin Elementary

Superintendent, Mark Henson, received news that there was a school in the county that was flagged by the state as “minimal concern” due to the number of erased answers on the CRCT tests given to all students last year. Since there were two classrooms at East Fannin Elementary that had a higher than usual erasure rate, the school was flagged. “We have to do an investigation and we will begin as soon as we receive additional information, including student level data” Henson said. Henson also expressed his concern and said “I can assure you, we will get to the bottom of this and if there is anything unethical going on, those participating in such activity will be dealt with.”

Assistant Superintendent, Art Hubbard, stated that there are many possibilities that could have caused the erasures, including a student being one row off on their answer sheet and not realizing it until they were finished, therefore forcing them to erase and select their answers in the proper place.
