Bobbie Jean Patterson : Obituary

Mrs. Bobbie Jean Patterson, age 85, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away Thursday, February 21, 2013 in the Fannin Regional Hospital in Blue Ridge, GA.Mrs. Patterson was born on June 17, 1927 in Polk County, TN to the late Henry Parker Phillips and Ilma Celia Williams Phillips. She worked as a sewing machine operator for Levi Strauss where she retired after 34 years of service. She was a member of Barnes Chapel Baptist Church. Mrs. Patterson was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Junior Patterson; daughters, Linda Sue McDaniel and Brinda Wingard; and sisters, Glordy Sue Callihan and Betty Toney.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Susie Patterson of Blue Ridge; brother, Donald Phillips of Blue Ridge; sisters, Louise Sparks, Bonita Patterson, and Tommy Bennett, all of Blue Ridge; 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, February 24, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Harold Weeks officiating. Music will be by Janie Turner. Pallbearers will be Terry Patterson, Joe Bennett, Rodney Phillips, Ray Sparks, Larry Sparks, and James Lloyd Callihan. Interment will follow in Barnes Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 2:00-9:00 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com. Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge is in charge of arrangements.
