The Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill announces the death of Brenda Gail Scott, age 60, of Copperhill, TN, who passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2012.She was born on September 26, 1952 in Habersham County, GA to the late Andrew Jackson and Dora Garren Brown. Brenda was secretary for Riverside Food Ministry. She sang with Copper City Quartet for eight years. Brenda was preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Brown.
She is survived by her husband, Rev. Bobby Scott of the home, three sons, Andy (Melissa) Scott of Copperhill, TN, Jamie (Donna) of Copperhill, TN and Bobby Scott, II of Turtletown, TN; eight grandchildren; sisters, Clara (Morris) Free of Cornelia, GA, Jean Thompson of Gainesville, GA and Patricia (Fay) Loggins of Cleveland, GA; mother-in-law, Inell Scott of Gainesville, GA; sister-in-law, Regina Scott, Gainesville, GA; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Larry Turner officiating. Music will be by Sue Stillwell. Pallbearers will be Michael Scott, Rev. Bobby Scott, Andy Scott, Jamie Scott, Bobby Scott, II and Randall Stokes. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Towe, Chris Scott and Matt Scott. Interment will follow in Crestlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday after 10:00 a.m.
