Mildred Lucille Queen Bridges, age 89 of Morganton, passed away Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Union General Hospital. Mrs. Bridges was born January 5, 1923 in Fannin, GA to the late Samuel and Margaret Collins Queen. She was a member of Salem # 1 Baptist Church, enjoyed gardening and making butter and butter milk. She was preceded in death by husband, Paul Bridges, sisters, Ethel Hunter, Ellen Whitmore, Hazel Dickey, Martha Underwood, Alwayne Beaver and Mary Tritt, Brothers, Jack Queen, Ross Queen and Paul Queen.
Survivors include:Brothers, Quince Queen, Herbert Queen and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services: Monday, December 31, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tim Garrett officiating. Interment will follow in Salem # 1 Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers: Randall Queen, Jackie Queen, David Queen, Jeff Quinton, Sammy Quinton and Alan Queen.
The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, Sunday, December 30, 2012 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
