Mrs. Dorothy G. Pittman, age 83 of Mineral Bluff, passed away November 14, 2012 at Gilmer Nursing Home.Mrs. Pittman was born December 2, 1928 to George Nathaniel and Naomi Parks Groves. A member of Hot House Baptist Church since 1939, she was preceded in death by husband, Herman Pittman, daughter, Rebecca Voyles, son in law, Randy Cartwright, brother, Ernest Groves, sister, Oralee Brewer, brother, Ralph Groves, brother, Beecher Groves, sister, Reba Richards, sister, Viola Groves, brother, A.J. Groves.
She is survived by her daughter, Evelyn Cartwright, daughter & son-in-law, Loveta (Arvil) Silvers, son & daughter-in-law, Donald (Melissa) Pittman, grandchildren; Melissa Ann Sweeney, Amy McArthur, Renee Young, Stacy Bridges, Holly Fritz, Jr. Pittman, Michael Pittman, thirteen great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 16th at 1:00 pm at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Queen officiating. Interment will be in Hot House Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, Thursday, November 15th from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
