The Copper Basin Cougars football team traveled to Chattanooga Friday, October 26, 2012, to take on the Buccaneers of Boyd-Buchanan. The Cougars were only able to score twice on the double A powerhouse as they fell 48-14.Copper Basin’s opening kickoff was taken back by Boyd-Buchanan to spell a long night for the visiting Cougars.

The Bucs stuffed Copper Basin’s first offensive effort and went on a drive down the field to score on a QB keeper to go up 14-0.

It seemed to start going downhill for the Cougars after Boyd-Buchanan was able to convert a fourth down and score again, this time from two yards out, to advance the lead to 21-0.

The Cougars were able to put points on the board as they were able to put a drive together on this staunch Buccaneer defense. Dylan Boggs called his own number as he was able to score on a QB keeper from eight yards out to cut the lead to 21-7.

Coming out of halftime, the Bucs kept their foot on the gas as they were able to put up seven more points on a 10 yard run.

Their next offensive possession was more of the same as they scored from three yards out to advance their lead to 35-7.

During the fourth quarter, the Bucs did what they had done the whole game and put a long drive together to go up 41-7.

A 36 yard QB keeper resulted in the last score for the Bucs offense as they elected to rest their starters for the playoffs for the remainder of the game.

The fans got a glimpse of what the Cougar offense might look like next year as this will be Dylan Boggs’ last year with the team. It featured a series of runs with Denzell Brown taking the snap and either keeping the ball or to hand it off. This offensive package resulted in a drive down the field that resulted in a 39 yard touchdown run, to end the game with a 48-14 win by Boyd-Buchanan.
