Calvin Marion Mealer : Obituary

Calvin Marion Mealer, age 82, of Copperhill passed away Thursday, September 27, 2012. Calvin was a native of Polk County and was a son of the late Cicero and Florence Walden Mealer. He was a member of the Boilermaker Local # 1 and had been employed by Bacon Tanks as a Metal Fabricator. He was a member of the Grassy Creek Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Irene Ledford Mealer of the home; son, Steven Mealer of Texas; daughters, Shirley Johnson of Alsip, IL, Sharon Debbia of Oakland, IL; sister, Opal Sheely of Marietta, GA; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, September 30th at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Roger Hyatt officiating. Pallbearers will be Johnny Mealer, Scottie Mealer, Tim Davis and Paul Johnson. Interment will follow in the Grassy Creek Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday after 10:00 a.m. but especially from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
