Following a highly contentious public hearing last week, the board of commissioners scrapped an EMS ordinance in the wake of fierce public opposition. The meeting was scheduled as a second hearing for the initial ordinance. However, the board of commissioners presented a new ordinance on the August 28th meeting. As such, since this was the first presentation of a new ordinance, the county is required to another public hearing. Commission Chair Bill Simonds, however, did not say when the remaining hearing will be held.
