The Fannin County High School Lady Rebels softball team is riding high after sweeping region rival Rabun County, and local rival Gilmer High School the Lady Rebels look to travel to Harrison High School this weekend.The Lady Rebels rocked the Rabun Lady Wildcats with an 8-7 last up home win, followed by a 20-4 shellacking in Rabun that featured Karly Thompson going for the cycle.

The Lady Rebels also swept the local rival, Gilmer Lady Bobcats, winning 14-4 at home before going to Gilmer and winning 6-3, despite being down 3-2 after five.

Fannin found little resistance in the first 14-4 Gilmer game; however, the Lady Rebels were down 3-2 entering the top of the sixth inning. Thompson’s three run homer was part of a four run sixth inning that secured the Fannin win.
