Tonya Walker-Taylor is announcing her candidacy for Clerk of Superior Court as your PUBLIC SERVANT ADVOCATE!I am a Blue Ridge girl all the way and we used to tell people that we were bean and cornbread fed, raised up right and we will fight. I love Fannin County, GA. Blue Ridge is my hometown. My parents built their current home when I was 5 in the city limits of Blue Ridge and we moved from Epworth where I was located from birth. I was raised here, graduated from the amazing Fannin County School System. I was a Lady Rebel and left Fannin County as a winner in the year of 1993 when we won the very first ever Lady Rebels State Championship in the history of our county.

Currently I have been in the medical field for the last 18 years as a Respiratory Therapist and decided to switch career paths when a concerned and requested change was brought to my attention.

I am married to Jack D Taylor and combined we have 4 wonderful children with the youngest being 16 who is currently a FCHS Rebel Basketball Player.

Our only daughter just graduated with the 2012 class at FCHS.

During my current career I am and have always been an avid Patient Advocate. I frown on mistreatment toward a patient and there are no excuses for poor care. I am taking that passion and placing it into a different service for you and for the memory and endless pride in my Veteran Ancestors and yours!

I am, I pledge to be, and I will fight to continue to always be your Public Servant ADVOCATE! There is a right way and a wrong way.

I promise to treat you the very way I prefer to be treated. Respectfully, professionally, courteously, compassionately, approachable and fair.

I will not veer from my personal convictions and NO ONE will be treated as an inconvenience. I am a huge fan of the new and revised Open Records Act and believe it is an asset to Georgia citizens and their questions.

My ancestors and yours fought for my rights, your rights and for our United States of America’s freedoms. Freedom came at an very high price and we have to respect the liberties and laws
of our land. So many men died for our rights, laws, freedoms and I demand they be upheld and the constitution our conscience. My Grandfather Allen, my Grandfather Walker, my baby brother, my father in law all served this country and no one has a right to take that from us.

My husband’s grandfather Taylor fought on the shores of Iwo Jima. Witnessed Marines massacred,
his friends shot down beside him. The Clerk of Court’s office is where you look up anything
you need about the county, budget, land purchases and many other records. This decision is
important and I need you to make the right choice. I have been saving lives for nearly 20 years
and running this office will be an undertaking I have no doubt I can manage, improve, make more
cost efficient and bring it back to the integrity of my servant standards and to meet the demand for the internet popular generation of 2012. Vote Tonya Walker-Taylor, Republican, in July. Vote for your Public Servant Advocate. The Open Meeting Act which puts emphasis on local government minutes, budgets, and salaries and your tax dollars spent is a great change for all of Georgia. Fannin County, Georgia is labeled an F on the sunshinereview.org website for not giving its citizens access to all this information online. Please look for yourself and then look at the A+ and that will show you what I want and plan to implement. The all inclusive website involving all local government entities will provide you with all information covered, by law, under theses new Acts and the Georgia Assembly. I am qualified, I am here for you, remember I don’t need this job, I have a career. I want this job because I am passionate about the way it should be served! The public has been shown a great disservice and refusal of certain aspects within the office and are now demanding a change. It is 2012 and customer service is the FOUNDATION of each and every business, office, elected official, statesmen and so forth. What kind of business owner would put their staff in the position to refuse to let them introduce themselves to the customer on the only phone line available for each and every public record kept in Fannin County.

Ask why folks, you need to address this, this has to be stopped.

Vote your public servant advocate, Tonya Walker-Taylor.
