Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee announces services of Shirley Meskan, age 89, of Hiawassee, who passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2012.
Mrs. Meskan was born in Park Ridge, Illinois, on May 27, 1923, a daughter of the late Louis and Rose Roslek. She served proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps., and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Hiawassee. Mrs. Meskan worked for many years as a Certified Public Accountant. She was a member of Oglethorpe Presbyterian Church in Chamblee, Georgia. Her husband, John A. Meskan, passed away in 2010. Also preceding her in death was a son, Bruce Lewis Meskan; two brothers: Dick Roslek and Robert Roslek; and a sister, Sue Prano.
Mrs. Meskan will be greatly missed by her family members: a son, Scott, of Hiawassee; three grandchildren: Cody Meskan, of Hiawassee; Nick Meskan, of Connecticut, and Justin Meskan, of San Francisco, California.
Private memorial services will be held at home for Mrs. Meskan.
