Mr. John Raymond “Ray” Loving, age 87, of McCaysville, passed away May 13, 2012 at his home. Ray was born April 2, 1925 in Blue Ridge, GA to the late William Timothy Loving and Vernie Mae Arp Loving. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, he enjoyed working at the church, fishing, and gardening. Ray and his loving wife, Dollie were married on Valentine’s Day 69 years ago.
He retired from TN Chemical after working there for 42 years.
Preceded in death by his parents, one daughter & son-in-law, Patsy & Donald Pickelsimer; sisters, Ethelee Hughes, Lois Bell, and Marie Loving; brothers, Clint Loving, and Clois Loving.
Survivors include his wife, Dollie White Loving, brother, Wade Loving, sister, Kay Davis, and granddaughter, Barbara Pickelsimer Maynard & husband Daniel, nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 3:00 pm at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with the Reverend Kenneth Mann, Rev. Harold Lowery and Rev. Doug Pritchett officiating. Music provided by Alice Griggs. Interment will follow in the Copper Ridge Memorial Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers: Arnold Watkins, Ray Watkins, Richard Melton, Richard White, Mark Huff, and Donnie Dilbeck. Honorary Pallbearers will be Danny McFarland, Jerry Cole, Stanley Ritter, Jimmy Ritter, Jason Tanner, Marty Tanner, Ricky Thomas, Mike Huff, Jody Huff and Ried Mathis. He will lie-in-state one hour before the service.
The family will receive friends at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home of McCaysville, Tuesday, May 15, 2012 from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
