Mr. Arnold Wilbert Winkler, 76 of Mineral Bluff, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2012, at his home.He was born November 22, 1935 in White County, Georgia, He was the son of the late Garnier Winkler and the late Dora Nix Winkler. He was retired from the Fannin County Road Department and also had worked for Bill Jones’s Convenience Store for twenty five years. Mr. Winkler was a member of Young’s Chapel.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Ellen Winkler of Blue Ridge, GA; children and their spouses, Tony and Sandra Winkler of Chatsworth, GA, Terry and Tenna Winkler of McCaysville, GA, Brenda Winkler of Blue Ridge, GA, Bobby Winkler of Blue Ridge, GA, Glenda Dockery of Blue Ridge, GA and Mary Kay and Michael Knight of Morganton, GA and Yancey and Misha Winkler of Blue Ridge, GA; sisters, Jeanette Roberson of Mineral Bluff, GA and Bertha Simmons of Dial, GA, Dorothy Clore of McCaysville, GA; 20 grand children and 17 great grand children.
Funeral services will be at Friday at 4:00 p.m. January 20 at the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Collis officiating. Music will be provided by the Whistle Stop Band. Interment will be in Union Baptist Cemetery, The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers: Perry Ledford, Jeff Ledford, Darren Ledford, Yancey Winkler, Austin Knight, Michael Knight, Michael Dockery, Justin Knight, Randall Cross, William Roberson, Brett Jones and Patrick Libby. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Howard Slaughter and Bill Jones.
Friends may visit on Thursday after 2:00 p.m. however the family will especially meet with friends after 5:00 p.m.
