The Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge announces the death of Mrs. Madeline Rosetta Jones, age 79, of Blue Ridge, GA who passed away Saturday, November 26, 2011 in the Fannin Regional Hospital.She was born in Higdon, GA on April 28, 1932 to the late Homer and Ollie Patterson Davenport. Mrs. Jones was a wonderful cook and baker, loving mother, grandmother, mother-in-law and sister. She was a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church. Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Charlie Jones; daughter, Janet Jacobs; brother, Edwin Davenport; sisters, Floy Jean George and Lillian Postelle.

She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Derryl Parker of Blue Ridge, GA; brother, James Davenport of Blue Ridge, GA; sisters, Arlene Key of Cleveland, TN, Inez Jones of Blue Ridge, GA, Marie Kenemer of Dalton, GA and Gaye White of Concord, NC; six grandchildren, Michelle (Eric) Sowers, Jamie (Amanda) Campbell, Wesley (April) Jacobs, Jake Jacobs, Creed Parker and Brianna Parker; seven great grandchildren, Tyler Robertson, Haley Campbell, Zackery Campbell, Khareee Hughes, Abbay Grace Campbell, Tristan Jacobs and Natalie Jacobs also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, November 28, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Larry Williams and Rev. Glen Collis officiating. Music will be by Jeffery Davenport, Betty Hawkins, Brenda Callihan and Nancy Watkins. Pallbearers will be Tyler Robertson, Jamie Campbell, Jimmy Davenport, Jerry Davenport, Jeffrey Davenport and Al Jones. Interment will follow in Copper Ridge Memory Gardens.
