Patricia Knight : Obituary

Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces funeral services for Mrs. Patricia Brewer Knight, age 65, of Blairsville, who passed away Sunday, September 25, 2011, in Union General Hospital in Blairsville, following a long, seven year courageous battle with cancer. She was an inspiration to all who knew her.

Mrs. Knight was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on February 17, 1946, a daughter of the late N.D. Brewer and the late Genevieve Mashburn Brewer. Patricia had been a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church for 28 years, and was very active in her church, keeping the nursery during the Sunday School time.

Patricia is survived by and will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 46 years, Lee Knight; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Connie Knight, of Blue Ridge, Georgia, and daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Gerald Dockery,of Murphy, North Carolina; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Melvin Nettles, of Summerville, South Carolina; grandchildren: Brinna Knight, Drew Dockery, and Maribeth Dockery; several nieces, nephews, and many friends also survive.

Funeral services have been scheduled for Wednesday, September 28, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville. Burial will be in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation at the funeral home will be held Tuesday evening, September 27, 2011, from the hours of 6 until 9 p.m.

The family has requested, in honor of Patricia’s long battle with cancer, that memorial contributions be made to Ebenezer Cancer Relief Fund, c/o Frances Brown.

Arrangements have been entrusted by Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville.
