Lucille Jordan, age 92 of Blairsville, passed away Friday, September 9, 2011 at Union General Hospital.
Mrs. Jordan was born October 6, 1918. She was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of Zebulon Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mack Jordan, parents, Arnold and Nellie McGaha, sisters, Ruby Hyde and Juanita Kelley and brother, Sammy Butt.
Survivors include: daughters, JoAnn (Farris) Brown and Eloise (Kenneth) Cook, both of Blairsville sisters, Pauline Stephens, Louise Owenby, Barbara Coker and Claudine Souther, all of Blairsville and Betty Patterson of Dalton, GA, grandchildren, Lois Taylor, Mary Jo Johnston, Oran Cook and Kendra Cook and great grandchildren, Megan Mullins, Kayla Mullins and Emily Taylor.
Funeral services: Monday, September 12, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the Zebulon Baptist Church with the Rev. Tommy Jenkins and Rev. Ray Potts officiating. The body will lie in state at the church Monday from 1:30 until 2:00 p.m. Music will be provided by the Zebulon Baptist Church Choir. Interment will follow in Union Memory Gardens. The following gentlemen have been requested to serve as pallbearers: David Chatham, Leonard Sosebee, Neal Rusk, Kenneth Cook, Olin Hughes and George Coker.
The family will receive friends at the Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville, Sunday, September 11, 2011 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
