Rev. Ernest Arvil German, “Preacher” age 98 of McCaysville, Georgia, passed away July 8, 2011 at at his home. Preacher was born October 6, 1912 in Fannin County, GA to the late John German and the late Lydia German. He was a member of Hipps Chapel Methodist Church and in ministry almost 73 years starting his ministry at the age of 26, he was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Gladys Beaty German; and daughters, Earnestine German and Shirley Panter.
Survivors include: wife, Thelma German, daughter, Jo-Ann Clifford, daughter & son-in-law, Barbara & Ronnie Kimsey, son-in-law, Edward Panter, step-daughters, Claudette Earley, and Lora (Sam) Lewis, grandchildren, Debbie (Mike) Brown, David Clifford, Eddie (Gwen) Panter, Greg (Judy) Panter, West (Lynn) Kimsey, and Matt (Kelly) Kimsey; step-grandchildren, Samatha Pugh, and Baron Early; ten great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services: Sunday, July 10, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Delmar Davenport officiating. Music provided by: Ed Vest. Interment will follow in Hipps Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers: Eddie Panter, Greg Panter, David Clifford, West Kimsey, Matt Kimsey, and Sam Lewis.
The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Saturday, July 09, 2011 from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
