Richard Steffan : Obituary

Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces the death and funeral services for Mr. Richard James Steffan, age 63, of Blairsville, Georgia, who passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2011. Mr. Steffan was born in Buffalo, New York, on November 6, 1947, a son of the late James and Nadine Steffan. Richard was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He had been living in this area since 1995, moving here from Boca Raton, Florida. He was a member and officer of the Chatuge Gun Club.

He is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife, Marien Simpson, of Blairsville, Georgia; his mother, Nadine Steffan, of Jacksonville, Florida; daughter & her husband, Fay and Adam Bailey, of Dacula, Georgia; step-daughter, Nicole Calakos and her husband, Russell C. Mead, Jr., of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; and step-daughter, Noelle Calakos, of Pompano Beach, Florida; sister and her husband, Mary and Samuel Cramer, of Jacksonville, Florida; two grandchildren: Tyler and Tessa Mead.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, April 18, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville. Burial will be in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.

No visitation is scheduled. If you wish to do so, memorial contributions may be made to Humane Society’s Mountain Shelter, P.O. Box 1252, Blairsville, Georgia 30514.
