As you’ve probably noticed, gas prices in Fannin County are rising at an alarming rate. Since FYN started keeping track – starting around the end of February – prices have risen 30 cents per gallon, to $3.59 on April 12th.

So what effect does 30 cents per gallon have on the Fannin community? If we make a conservative estimate of 250 drivers buying 15 gallons of gas each day, the $.30 price increase of the past six weeks translates into quite a bit of money. Simple math tells us those 250 customers would be spending an additional $1,125 per day, $7,875 per week, and $34,125 more per month – quite an increase for a month and a half.
