Lonas Dean Coleman, age 86, of Turtletown, TN passed away Friday, April 8, 2011.Lonas was a native of the Copper Basin area and was a son of the late George and Mary Ella Kimsey Coleman. He was a self-employed barber for a number of years and was a member of the Turtletown Baptist Church. He was a member of the Lyndhurst Lodge #0508 in Lyndhurst, Ohio, the Valley of Cleveland, a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Deana Dawn Coleman, brother, Deyo Coleman and sister, Opal Goode.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty seven years, Leona Martin Coleman of the home; brother, Paul Coleman of Epworth, GA; many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, April 10th at 7:30 p.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Ray Harper officiating. Music was by Roy Goode and Janice Reid. Pallbearers were Roy Goode, David Goode, Hoyt Goode, Chris Harper, Neil Pickelsimer and Darris Mealer. Honorary pallbearers were Ray Odom, Beuford Kidd, Luke Hall and Johnny Nix. Interment followed Monday, April 11th at 11:00 a.m. from the Zion Hill cemetery with Masonic Rites conducted by the Ducktown Lodge #241 F&AM.
