Mr. James Claude Baker, age 68, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away on Friday, April 8, 2011 at his home.He was born on July 20, 1942 in Fannin County, GA to the late Johnny Lester and Rada Josephine Stepp Baker. Mr. Baker had been employed with John Harlan Company as a printing press operator and worked with Ingles of Blue Ridge for the past fifteen years. Mr. Baker was a member of the McCaysville Church of Christ. He was an avid fisherman.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Matthews Baker of Blue Ridge, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Hollye and Denton Petty of Blue Ridge, GA; three brothers, John Baker of Blue Ridge, GA; Robert Lynn Baker of Villa Rica, GA and Jerry Baker of Powder Springs, GA; sister, Joyce Marbutt of Villa Rica, GA; three grandchildren, Matthew Kimsey, Mason Kimsey and Sydney Petty.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, April 11, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Akins Chapel with Minister Keith Ritchie, Minister Bill Johnston and Rev. Renny Ryder officiating. Music was by Hal Medlin, Corey and Jill Whitaker. Pallbearers were Matthew Kimsey, Mason Kimsey, Billy Joe Postell, Nathaniel Carter, Joe Postell, Bohn Postell and Denton Petty. Honorary pallbearers were employees of Ingles of Blue Ridge. Interment followed in the Macedonia Church of Christ Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
