Fannin County Grand Jury Returns Three Indictments in Three Cases

Lawyer and local businessman indicted for insurance fraud.

Mark Thomas Sallee, John David Grice and Kim Grice Pack were indicted for two (2) counts of Insurance Fraud. The Indictment alleges that on October 19, 2007, the defendants filed a false claim for Insurance and subsequently on December 8, 2008 made a fraudulent statement in a Sworn Proof of Loss to Zurich Insurance company claiming a $117,849.82 loss. On August 4, 2006, Kim Grice Pack sold a house to John David Grice which burned to the ground two (2) days later. John David Grice did not have insurance on the property. The parties are alleged to have conspired to have fraudulently made a claim on Kim Grice Pack’s insurance policy even though she did not have an insurable interest in the property.
Max Garry Jones was indicted for six counts of Possession of Firearm by a Convicted Felon occurring on October 22, 2010 related to an investigation by the Fannin County Sheriff’s Office. Jones was arrested in January 2011 and is currently in the Fannin County Jail without bond.

Brandon Hooke Lowery was indicted for three counts of Serious Injury by Vehicle Speeding, Failure to Maintain Lane and other traffic related charges for the September 1, 2010 motor vehicle collision occurring on Madola Road.

The law presumes each Defendant is innocent until proven guilty and a grand jury indictment is only the formal accusation, made by the Grand Jury after finding probable cause, which brings the accused to trial.
