Vena Elizabeth Foster Allen : Obituary

The Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge announces the death of Mrs. Vena Elizabeth Foster Allen, age 77, of Blue Ridge, GA who passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at home.She was born on December 24, 1933 in Fannin County, GA to the late Virgil and Roxie Davenport Foster. Mrs. Allen was a homemaker and a member of Hipps Chapel Church. She is preceded in death by son, Gary Allen and brother, Robert Foster.

Survivors include her husband, Johnny Allen of Blue Ridge, GA; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and David Paskiet of Ellijay, GA and Peggy and Larry Nicholson of Blue Ridge, GA; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruby and Warren Davis and Mattie and Clay Garland of Blue Ridge, GA; seven grandchildren, David Queen, Amber Bauman, Scott Nicholson, Jennifer Painter, Jeremy Nicholson, Daniel Allen and Carrie Anderson; ten great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, March 28, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Akins Chapel with Dr. Roger Beck officiating. Music will be by Gilliam Farmer. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Nicholson, David Queen, Daniel Allen, Tim Bauman, Drew Anderson and Richie Painter. Honorary pallbearers will be Doyle Garland and William Cantrell. Interment will follow in the Sugar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, March 27, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com. Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge is in charge of the arrangements.
